If an MMORPG about Star Wars needs to switch to a free to play model, then any other kind of MMO probably isn’t doing so hot right now either. Bluehole Studio’s Tera is going free to play next month, and will be re-branded as Tera: Rising.
Although Tera: Rising will no longer require a subscription fee, players will be able to buy various items from an in-game marketplace. Folks who want to continue to paying the $15 monthly fee will gain a myriad of exclusive privileges, some of which include extra dungeon rewards and bonus quests.
It’s no shock that Tera is resorting to this “fremium” model. If your game isn’t called World of Warcraft, you’ll probably have a hard time finding any sort of legitimate footing in the MMO market.

awesome, definitely going back to this.
Had quit cause i didn’t really find the game worth the $15 a month, but for free it’s a done deal.
btw awesome vlog you got here.
