After Capcom revitalized their two most popular fighting franchises with the releases of Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3, fans have been clamoring for a new iteration in the Darkstalkers series.  Today, those fans finally got what they wanted…somewhat.  Capcom announced Darkstalkers Resurrection, a $15 downloadable title that will contain Night Warrior: Darkstalkers’ Revenge and Darkstalkers 3, the first and third games of the franchise respectively.  While this isn’t the brand new entry that most people were hoping for, it’s better than nothing right?

Darkstalkers Resurrection will get the same treatment that Capcom has been doing with its recent remakes: GGPO supported online play, unlockable concept art, and in-game achievements.  It’s set to release in early 2013 for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
