I stumbled upon this while researching organizations to help a friend report an incident where she witnessed a professional dog trainer using spiked choke collars, and shock collars at the same time to brutally train his dogs. They were bleeding and would be punished for any movement made and as a lover and owner of dog’s myself, I was infuriated. I took the time to research some ways to report abuse, and ended up finding Olivia Munn on the PETA page and was pleasantly surprised.

In addition to being a beauty, actress, and online personality, Olivia Munn took a stand to fur farms in China to raise awareness to how severe and cruel the methods are. I once saw the video “Earthlings” on Google Video and was appalled over the video footage I saw, including one where garbage men threw a stray German Shepherd into a trash compactor.

I was happy to see someone who was so well known in the tech and gaming community doing something for an organization such as PETA. Being someone of Chinese descent and proud, Munn is taking the stand to bring attention to the outrageous methods used in skinning the animals in China. China being the largest distributor of fur goods, has very few regulations in terms of how the demand for fur is met. The animals being alive, and being brutally murdered are displayed in the video so I do urge caution before watching. It is very graphic.

After the fiasco a few months back with Olivia Munn posing nude in lovely lingerie, she takes her nudity and uses it for the good of animal kind. It’s skeptical and some people will criticize her for attempting to redeem herself for the images that were posted back then, however a cause is a cause and to raise awareness for something that like the fur trade is something I will commend her for.
