Blizzard has announced Diablo III’s patch 1.0.4 over Twitter and Facebook over the course of the week. Just this morning it has finally been released and it definitely gives high level players more reason to get back into the grind. Patch 1.0.4 introduces many changes to the game, including a complete revamp of all the Legendary items, buffs and nerfs to all skills for each class, and a brand new system that adds flavor to D3′s end-game called “The Paragon System.”
As many of us gamers have come to realize, Diablo III lost a lot of playtime and it has become rather stale. It also got knocked down as the most commonly viewed game on Twitch.tv’s top games. However, Blizzard hasn’t abandoned their fanbase and has been listening to feedback and attitudes of players, especially some suggestions given by well-known broadcasters such as Athene and Kripparian. The main issue that was presented was the lack of end-game content, which turned into a grind-fest with no rewards since players would be grinding for hours on end in an attempt to find epic loot. This ended up leaving players on Inferno difficulty paying high amounts of Gold for repair costs with or without the epic loot they found. Blizzard sought to remedy this by adding The Paragon System.
With this system in place, players who are Level 60 can now feel rewarded as they can make progress with each play session. Even though you can’t find that awesome Level 63 +200 Strength sword that you want, you can still gain experience towards your Paragon Levels. The Paragon System provides many benefits and rewards such as:
- Core stats that grant bonuses to Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Vitality
- +3% Magic Find
- +3% Gold Find
- A distinct border around your character portrait to represent your Paragon Level
- Level cap of 100 Paragon Levels
- Magic Find cap at 300%
On top of this, that nifty new Magic Find gear that you found or bought off the Auction House will stack on top of your bonus Magic Find, especially Nephalem Valor which will make farming for Legendary loot a breeze.
Legendary Items have also received changes which are very unique and give players more reason to use Legendaries over that Rare loot you got off that little Hell Lasher. Take a loot at what Blizzard has done to all of their Legendary items!
