Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is the new name of the huge update coming to Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix’s second MMO in the Final Fantasy franchise. Previously called “version 2.0,” A Realm Reborn will attempt to garner back the goodwill of all the people disappointed with the horrific launch of the original Final Fantasy XIV. It was torn apart by critics and players alike, and the response was so harsh that Square Enix president Youichi Wada had to publicly apologize for the poor quality of the game.
Square Enix says that this update was built from scratch and will feature a brand new world and storyline. Although there isn’t a concrete release date, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be released on both PlayStation 3 and PC.
