The pricing, platform, and release date for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition has been announced. The update of Bioware’s classic will released on PC, Mac, iPad, and Android.
The PC and Mac versions will cost $19.99, while the iPad version will go for $9.99. The iPad version however, will only contain 1 of the 3 new characters available. The 2 other characters can be bought through in-app purchases.
The PC version will be released on September 18th and can be pre-ordered right now. The Mac and iPad will also get their Baldur’s Gate on in September but no specific day has been announced. Android users are still in the dark however, as a release date for the platform has not yet been revealed.
The 3 new characters included in Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition are Rasaad yn Bashir, a Calishite Monk; Dorn II-Khan, a Blackguard half-orc; and Neera, as half-elf Wild Mage. A brand new adventure called The Black Pits is also included–which supposedly is about 6 hours long and will be composed of 15 levels of “arena-style combat challenges.” There are also a bevy of new features such as being able to play multiplayer across different platforms. The full details of every change can be found on the official website.
