Mass Effect 3 DLC Details

BioWare caused a bit of a ruckus among Mass Effect fans by announcing that the game will have a DLC pack released on the same date as the game launch.

Today BioWare responded with a few details on the DLC to try to reassure fans that they are not being sold an incomplete game.

From Ashes includes the Prothean squad mate, an adventure on Eden Prime, a new weapon, and an alternate appearance for every squad mate,” said producer Mike Gamble on the BioWare Social Network. “The Collector’s Edition has been advertised from the beginning as containing a bonus character/mission, but we were not at liberty to provide the details. The Prothean is optional content that is certainly designed to appeal to long-time fans, which is why he is part of the CE offering (the version many fans would be likely to purchase).

Mass Effect 3 is a complete – and a huge game – right out of the box.

Those who buy Mass Effect 3 Collector’s Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition will have access to the DLC pack for free, but everyone else will have the pleasure of purchasing it separately. A price has yet to be confirmed, but the news should be out shortly.

Mass Effect 3 will be hitting shelves on March 6 for Xbox360, PS3 and PC.

  1. I was pretty pissed when I heard Bioware was doing this. Developing story based content that isn’t for everyone on day 1 is pretty unethical. I was stoked about getting this game but I don’t know how I feel about Day 1 DLC especially when it is as important as a PROTHEAN being added to the game…

  2. I think this is one of the most significant info for me. And i am glad reading your article. But want to remark on few general things, The web site style is great, the articles is really nice : D. Good job, cheers
