Back in the fall of 2011, Square Enix got us all hyped by telling us they would release Final Fantasy X for the PS Vita and PS3 in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary. However, the mistake we had made was defining it as a remake.
We can anticipate that Square Enix is indeed giving us Final Fantasy X, but rather than a remake, it is instead a high definition remaster. This has been done before with popular titles such as Metal Gear Solid and Devil May Cry on the PS2.
Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto stated:
It’s being developed as an HD Remaster, but the visuals will be much more beautiful than before. Please look forward to it!
FFX producer Yoshinori Kitase also revealed in an interview with a German gaming magazine that he will be involved with the project to assure the quality will be as close to the original as possible.
Nothing else has been announced other than that it is in production, and will be for HD devices (PS Vita, PS3).

Lol, I’m really having a pretty difficult time deciding which I’d love more… I swear there’ve been urban legends that there’s the possibility of an FFVII remaster since I was in school to be honest, I’m pretty sure the entire world wants it.
I remember this very well. I’m pretty sure the world fell apart for a moment with all the hype and excitement regarding that rumor. If FFX is being remastered, we can only hope they continue the trend with the other FF games! Fingers are crossed!

Mmm, I think people need to show them how much money it could make; it’s up to you playstationeers to get FFX some serious uptake!

They have already re-released ff7 on psn, now they are about to do the same with ffx but only “remastered”….No psn games have recieved the “remastered” treatment as far as I know, I think ff7 has seen the extent of its being re-released. There isnt much they could do with playstation one games, unless they go the full 9 and just completely remake from scratch.

Well, they did make Final Fantasy XIII… I wouldn’t be too shocked if they managed to squeeze in another Final Fantasy game over to the Xbox360. I’m an Xbox360 fan myself, but a lot of titles are Playstation exclusive (like Final Fantasy before XIII) so that’s my justification, haha.

Wouldn’t they release FFX remastered In xbox360 too??? I’m really hoping for It to be out in Xbox360 though… and many of the FFX Fans which owns an Xbox360 rather than a Ps3 would be a really dissapointed such as myself…..
I would assume after FFXIII being on Xbox, they would make the effort to release the remaster on Xbox as well. Hopefully, this will be a guarantee for the future. Our fingers are crossed(:
